Our “Hatching” Story
Hatchgrove was born out of the goal to connect coconut farmers and community farming groups in the Philippines to the global market. For generations, many local farmers only produced copra, unaware of the demand for other coconut products globally. In 2010, Hatchgrove started working with coconut farmers and farming groups, producers, and processors, who lacked access to technology, capital, and markets, to improve their products and methods and help them earn decent incomes. We have provided them skills training, assisted them with organic and other certification, and helped them develop and deliver high-value coconut- and tropical fruit-powered ingredients to food companies worldwide.
To date, we collaborated with companies in the U.S., Europe, and Australia, built relationships with community grower groups, formed farming alliances throughout the Philippines, and partnered with coconut farmers and processors.
